A woman is checking on the thread during production at Crystal Martin company in Bac Giang province, Vietnam, where approximately 10,000 people are working with 65 per cent of whom are women.
On 6 March 2019, CARE and Vietnam's General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) paid a visit to the factory. The VGCL has an important voice, representing workers, in the process of revising the Labour Code that has been in effect since 2012. With funding from the Investing in Women initiative by the Australian Government, CARE has supported the Code revision process towards increased gender equality in the world of work in Vietnam.
