Jobeda Khanam as a Manager for the Government Affairs & Award Management (GAAM) Departmentand works closely with NGO Affairs Bureau, the highest regulator body of Bangladesh government for non-government. She has been working for CARE for the last 20 years. A major part of her job entails translating, restructuring and highlighting CARE project documents into Bangla, according to the government’s provided format and where the government’s support is required, respectively. Despite the lockdown, Jobeda and her colleague Yeakube Mozumdar often need to attend office and visit NGO Affairs Bureau for obtaining approval of new and re-designed projects given the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a human being and a staff of a humanitarian organization, it feels great to work for the people of my country, despite the global crisis” shares Jobeda with confidence and satisfaction.
Not only project approvals, the GAAM team has been able to successfully process CARE Bangladesh’s registration renewal for another 10 years. The pandemic could not deter their efforts and initiatives.
