Interview with Zalika saadou a victim of the flooding. 55 year old Zalika is a widow and mother of 11 and works as a spice seller (although her work has been disrupted by the flooding). She is currently staying in a school alongside 79 others after being displaced by the flooding from their neighbourhood of Kirkissoye in the capital Niamey. However, they have now been told they need to vacate the classromm where they are currently seeking shelter as the school year is about to begin and the space is needed for schooling.
