Dilruba, is a Response Officer, works with GBV team in the Rohinya Camps. She is originally from Pabna but lives and works in Cox’s Bazar. Her job responsibilities include providing psycho- social support, and managing cases when needed. On most days Dilruba spends about 6-7 hours on the roads just to commute to work and back home. As a humanitarian worker, she believes, “I have a responsibility to work with refugees during this COVID-19 crisis. They have very little knowledge and if we don’t support them at this critical time they are going to suffer the most, which is unfair. They have equal rights to live with dignity and with proper information”.
"I don't feel bad in any way for working amidst this crisis, rather it feels great that my work in this disaster is helping out many people. To ensure hygiene and disinfection inside our cars, we wash the car with detergent and sanitize with sanitizers after every use." Said Ferdoushi Akter, a driver in Shirajganj district. Most of the drivers in CARE Bangladesh are working on a rotation basis to ensure essential work and services are provided without delay.
