However incredible it may sound, Jasimuddin Biswas has been working with CARE Bangladesh for 39 years, the longest servicing CARE Bangladesh employee! As Manager of the Administration Department of CARE, currently some of his major responsibilities are maintaining liaison with different government offices for necessary permits, approval and security clearance In addition, he also makes frequent visits to Police Commissioner’s office as and when needed. Even in the time of lockdown since March 26, he had to make couple of visits to police stations and commissioner’s office on related issues. “I am mentally very strong to face any crisis and not totally worried, because I am following the general guidelines of maintaining personal safety and social distancing as much as possible, not going anywhere unless it is necessary.” said Jasim. One would think that managing the permit for all CARE vehicles was a tough task, yet even the police are aware of the importance and support that the ongoing CARE Bangladesh projects are providing to tackle the COVID-19 crisis. Jasim explains, “When the police asked me why was it so important to get the vehicle transport permit , I told them that it was to ensure that our projects did not fall short in any way while supporting the communities they worked in
