Rezaul Karim works with SHOUHARDO III project in 4 of Char and Haor regions as Technical manager- Support and Representation. As of March 25, ever since the lockdown in Bangladesh was announced, Rezaul has worked tirelessly to support communities, without taking any time off for himself. Under the project, hand-washing stations are being installed in remote and hard to reach areas in 8 sub-districts - Kurigram, Gaibandha, Sirajganj, Jamalpur, Sunamganj, Habiganj, Netrokona and Kishoreganj. As a Technical Manager his presence is required to ensure everything is in order, from vendor negotiations to overall maintenance of the stations in community clinics and union based facilities. Donning the PPE and other safety items provided by CARE, Rezaul goes to work. “I have faced a lot of challenges. Re-opening buildings and facilities under a lockdown is not easy. In addition, the nature of our work requires us to spend a fair share of time at health facilities. Although CARE has provided with all the necessary protective gears working around large numbers of people is still harrowing. My family members gets worried. This time, I have stayed far from my family for the longest, but they understand the importance and impact of the work I do
