Sofia Sprechmann introduces Juana, a humanitarian leading the Recyclers association in Quito, Ecuador.
Juana is a leader of the women that recycle here in Ecuador and do the recycling for their subsistence. During the pandemic they were not able to go out [00:00:21] to take out the plastic, the cardboard that allows them to sell this material for their survival and CARE [00:00:30] has supported women such as Juana –one thousand and two hundred of them- with cash transfers. Cash transfers in the amount of 120 dollars each that allows Juana and others to access medicine and food during the months of confinement. [00:00:50] Juana herself has been a humanitarian leader and worked with CARE in partnership to reach recyclists in Ecuador. We are proud of Juana today we have been able, with her partnership to reach people in need in this pandemic, thank you very much.
