Interview title: Sound Bite – ALI NASER'S WIFE

English translation

Time

We were trapped inside the house for a month and we couldn't leave. We used to receive some aid. During that time, he was the only one who could go out to bring some water.

Finally, my son came after he was stung by a snake. We were in a very bad situation; we were terrified.

He suffers from a mental illness in addition to diabetes. We barely managed to get out of there with help from other people. We arrived here with no water or shelter. We ran for our lives when fighting suddenly broke out in our area. We couldn’t escape earlier. I needed help because my son is mentally ill with diabetes.

We didn't take anything with us. One of his cousins invited us to rent a small room in his house in the compound area. We stayed in that empty cramped room for about a month.

Then we moved to here. His other cousin lent us a tent. We couldn’t afford the rent, as well as living and medicine costs.

He went to the hospital today for treatment. We only registered his name until we hopefully get some support.

He has no work. We live on the sand. Sorry, I don’t know how to express; I am illiterate as they say.
