Awin Asakib, Bianboog, Upper East Region Ghana, 45 years, married with 6 children is a Pito (local beer) brewer, farms rice, maize, millet, sorghum and keeps livestock. She had access to land due to CARE and PAS GARO intervention. "In the past, farming was reserved for only men and so whenever there was famine, the whole family suffered. Women solely depended on their husbands. In the past, you ate any food you got because it was scarce. But now, you choose what to eat, what to wear and even what kind of mat to sleep on". Adaption Learning Programme ALP assists poor and vulnerable families in Niger, Mozambique, Ghana and Kenya adapt to new climate challenges.
