During COP26 we want to flood our social media channels with women’s voices because we all know there will be many voices missing this COP. Here, women from all over the world share their messages to world leaders.
HONDURAS, JOSSELY RIVAS, CARE participant/farmer
"The women that work in coffee production are directly affected by climate change but we are looking for solutions so we can fix this problem. For example, right now we have a system that collects rainwater. That water is useful to wash plates, take a shower, wash clothes, and to water our coffee nurseries when there is no water. Before that we spent up to 22 days without water, but since we started collecting the rain water we dont suffer from lack of water so much. We used to throw away the coffee pulp into the river - we had contaminated the environment. Now we pick up the pulp and turn it into organic fertiliser for the coffee farm."
