Internally Displaced People line up for food ration distribution at a Camp in Mudja, Following the recent humanitarian crisis in North Kivu province that resulted in a massive displacement of the population in Rutshuru territory, the majority of whom fled to Nyiragongo territory, an alert was activated within CARE internally and a CARE Norway Emergency Response Fund (ERF) was granted to carry out a project entitled "Emergency Food Assistance to IDPs Affected by Renewed Conflict in North Kivu Province". This emergency project supported 2,450 individuals(450 households) in Nyiragongo territory with food assistance and access to protection, building on the initial emergency response and maximizing impact through the pooling of resources.
